Georgian creativity – car registration plates

Travelling around in our car  is the time we talk, read, listen to music/stories, watch movies, observe the people outside, adore the mountains or play the games. The recent one is to spot the most interesting car registration plate.

Here in Georgia, the usual format of the car plate  is 2 letters, 3 digits and other 2 letters. And it is funny to see how creative the people can be as they have a choice. So, we have seen AB-xxx-CD, ON-xxx-LY, MI-xxx-SS, LA-xxx-DY and even CU-xxx-TE. And it corresponded with the drivers (at least the stylish one must have thought she was the cute MISS (she  might MISS someone),  the driver of posh Mercedes might have felt like to be  the ONLY one allowed on the road. The same would apply to BO-xxx-SS or HA-xxx-RD, KI-xxx-NG which we have seen as well. It reminds me of the said correlation among the people´s character and the breed of their dog…will write more in some other posts.

Of course, some people would feel they need to have more unique registration, like „2“ or „winner“. Try to guess the brand of the car…..No LADAs😊

The usual car plates here  are repeating the letters like FF-xxx-GG, IF-xxx-FI etc. Have seen today the one we liked  which was BE-xxx-OK. The driving here is crazy, it is like a battle, to be first and to squeeze wherever they can, hardly respecting any rules, speeding,…… For this reason, rather illustrative was IQ-xxx-LO(w) my dad added when someone nearly bumped to us. The one we cannot forget was HE-xxx-LL. So much true when driving around….

Which is less funny over the last months, how many cars here have ZZ on the plates. Not fans of the ZZ TOP (I have been told the name of the band, I am a teen) I suppose. Of course, there might not be any relation with Ukraine, would hope these cars have been registered more than year ago. Strange to have spotted here the car registered as NA-xxx-ZI, hard to believe but true☹
